Votorantim Metais was open in 1996, from a new organization of the managing mode of Votorantim Group that clustered business units according their activity line in the market. Since then, Votorantim Metais manages all strategic control of four Business Units Aluminum, Steel, Nickel and Zinc. Two years later, the Steel Business Unit separated from Votorantim Metais and became a branch of Votorantim Siderurgia.

Since its opening, Votorantim Metais has collecting achievements and significant results. Nowadays, the company is one of the five biggest global manufacturers of zinc, the biggest electrolytic nickel manufacturer in Latin America and the Brazilian leader in the production of raw aluminum. With the synergy in operations among different business units, Votorantim Metais consolidated as the second biggest company for non-ferrous metals in Brazil.

Due to its fully integrated manufacturing process the company operates mines since 1956 Votorantim Metais ensures high quality products, generating mutual value, for both the company and its customers.
