As a minimum four people were apparently trapped underground and crushed to death at an alluvial mining site in Bahn, Nimba County.
Spectator reports specify that those killed remained buried beneath heavy earth, following a tremor as they passed out underground mining.
In Bahn, local mining agent when contacted by this reporter state that only one death had been reported as a consequence of the weekend accident.
