Mining sector To Benefit BMA

Bulawayo-based bolt producer BMA Fasteners is set to advantage from the improving manufacture in the mining sector, with the corporation having secured 50 tonnes of orders from mining houses, Steelnet group managing director, Mr Anthony Mutemi, said.He said BMA, which operate at five percent ability during the first half of the year, predictable to make safe two other orders of 25 tonnes from two mining houses.

The mining division is poised for major revival with a number of investors, local and international; keen to take benefit of the improving economic environment to use the country's vast mineral resources. Mr Mutemi told analyst at a briefing to proclaim the group's consequences that the corporation had access working capital that would result in improvement in capacity utilisation.. Mr Mutemi told that the set had not trade in the primary two months of the year while the postponement of the central bank's agricultural mechanization programmed had seen a drop in demand for Hastt's products.

Mr Mutemi said Hastt operate the initial half of the year at eight percent ability while Tube and Pipe was located under care and preservation with the division mainly concerned in selling finished goods imported from South Africa.He said manufactured goods sales dropped almost 50 percent in the initial six months of the year compare to the similar period last year.
