Where it is formed?

This appealing prettiness is produced profound in the earth crust when crystallization takes place of two rich elements viz. silicon and oxygen. It forms a sum of 12% of the earth crust. Extensive assortment of igneous, sedimentary and metamorphic rocks grasps this crystal. These macroscopic crystals across the world happen as horizontal hexagonal prisms finished by a mixture of positive and negative rhombohedra forming six sided pyramids. It is mined in nature.

Physical Properties :

Cut

Crystal quartz is cut into a lot of miscellaneous shapes and styles, as it is a solid and hard stone. Cutters give new-fangled artistic cut to the stones depending upon the design of the jewels pieces. A number of of the general shapes are round, oval, marquise, square, princess cut, pear and a lot more. Beads are as well completed from the rough into diverse shapes like round, oval and baroque.

Color

It occur in varied colors but the major color remains plain stone with no color. The monotonous quartz is recognized as rock crystal. Dissimilar variety of quartz comes to being in diverse colors like cryptocrystalline crystals are colorful.

Clarity

It is translucent naturally and has vitreous shine. It holds inclusions of carbon dioxide and water. Blemish is also the consequence of the occurrence of additional mineral in traces in the chemical composition of the stone. Thus, without flaws or inclusions, to find an absolutely clear crystal is next to impossible. However, while the initial gemstone processing the necessary measures are taken to minimize the inclusions but the complete elimination of the flaws is not viable.

Carat weight

The macro crystalline variety of quartz occur in large sizes as rough while cryptocrystalline is found in small sizes. After initial gemstone dispensation and polishing a variety of stones are shaped of diverse carat weight. For the jewelry bits and pieces the mainly required carat weight is between 3- 6 carat. Beads are shaped in the sizes of 2mm to 8mm. When utilized as the decorative stone, the chosen weight is 12-14 carat
